Construction Law

Our combined experience makes our construction practice exceptionally positioned to represent the needs of our clients. Since 1997, Tom Liguori has been Treasurer and General Counsel of Cherenzia Companies. Nicole Micklich worked for Cherenzia Excavation prior to law school and has practiced construction law in Connecticut for over fifteen years.

We represent owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and design professionals in a variety of situations. We advise clients regarding public and private contracts and regulatory matters. We understand the importance of contract drafting and negotiation to your business and your projects. Our experience includes drafting and negotiating Construction Management Agreements, Agreements between Owner and Contractor and General Conditions of Contracts for Construction, Design Build Agreements, Subcontracts, and Agreements between Owner and Architect.

We provide counsel and guidance regarding payment and performance bonds, payment issues, liens, change orders and directives, insurance and indemnity. Our practice includes advising clients about claims related to delay and acceleration, design and construction defects, non-payment, contract disputes, and termination, and we handle litigation concerning those issues.

Coordinating with estimators, appraisers, architects, engineers, and other experts is critical to your work and to ours. We work with nationally recognized consultants to achieve your objectives.
