Franchise Law

Nicole Micklich has defined herself as a nationally recognized franchise lawyer, who represents franchisees in all aspects of their businesses and in litigation. Her clients do business in a variety of sectors including fast-food and quick-service restaurants, document destruction, tanning, furniture, and food and other product distribution.

Ms. Micklich has represented franchisees and Development Agents in a variety of disputes in numerous states and internationally. Many of those disputes included compliance issues, royalty payment disputes, other breach of contract allegations, and termination. Several involved inadequate or fraudulent disclosures.

It is important to us that your claims are handled efficiently. Most of the franchise disputes we handle involve formal or informal mediation, and we are often able to resolve your case successfully and without litigation. When litigation is necessary, we represent franchisees in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration.

We also assist potential franchisees with the purchase of their franchise. We regularly review Franchise Disclosure Documents and franchise agreements, usually for a flat fee. In addition, we can provide commercial advice as you start your business. And, when the time comes to sell or transfer your interests, we can assist with the preparation of letters of intent, purchase and sale agreements and related documents, as well as with securing franchisor approval.

Our goal is to watch our clients secure, develop, and protect profitable businesses.
